So if you couldn’t tell from our last discussion, we here at Stylish Home Fashions have always loved colors! We love nothing more than a house that goes out of their way to give their home a unique, yet classy aesthetic look that separates them from the rest of the houses in their neighborhood.
I don’t know about you, but we have noticed more and more that neighborhoods are tending to have what appears to be exact replicas of homes throughout the whole neighborhood. The opening song and intro to the TV show “Weeds” has never been more accurate than in today’s day and age.
Keeping the Same Ideas in Mind
Although we love houses that separate themselves from others, it is just as important to us not to go overboard with color schemes on the exterior of your house as it is for the interior.
How many of you out there have that one house on the street that is painted in rainbow colors, with no real style or method to the madness? Now we respect what they are trying to do by expressing their sort of “individuality” with their home, but no one likes an attention seeker and it is painfully obvious when this is the case.
For those of you with less experience than others in home decorating, it is best to at the bare minimum ensure that your roof and siding color schemes at least blend together and are easy on the eyes, yet still unique enough to grab someone’s attention.
Now that we have gotten our awkward introductions out of the way, we can start talking about what we brought this page back for!
One of the most important things that you can do when trying to improve the overall look of your home on both the inside and the outside is to not shy away from colors!
Don’t Get Carried Away
Now let us preface this by saying that we do not necessarily mean the more colors the better, but we are living in a time where the typical white on white or grey is out of style and is too typical of homes out there.
Our goal for our readers who take any of our advice out there is to make your home stand out from your brothers or sisters, your neighbors and friends. We want people who come to your home to leave feeling like they saw a house that is both unique and classy and going with the standard colors that have been so popular in the past just doesn’t do it anymore.
Keeping that in mind, we don’t recommend simply going to the store and grabbing as many different cans of paint color of you can and to just go crazy. Having too many colors going on in a house is just as bad as having none and can actually be much worse. Take a look here at House Beautiful for some unique ideas we are talking about.
You don’t want to appear like you are desperate or seeking attention with the decor in your house but you absolutely want to keep a sense of uniqueness and personality on your home.
